About Me

Hi there! I’m a former staff editor of Threads magazine and a dedicated hobbyist costumer who loves designing and making historical costumes—and sometimes not-so-historical costumes. I love working with fabrics and patterns, and figuring out how to make things work. Mostly I focus on the late Georgian and Regency periods, but I also love the fashions of many other historical eras, and I like to do a bit of sewing from each. This blog is a sort of journal to document my costuming exploits. All clothing is costume! (But I do have a separate blog to document my every-day, a.k.a. “real life,” sewing: Fearless Sewing.)
